Hear me baby, hold together.

Today the Subie got a good Lube/Oil/Filter and a 4 new shoes for the trip.  The folks at the mechanic's shop reminded me that she is due for a timing belt.  I didn't want to continue to fork out money ahead of the trip and not working for 3 weeks, but the alternative (busted belt in Death Valley or Zion National Park and a $1000 towing bill) is less attractive.

on the bright side, if you DID break down, you have all that nifty camping gear to really try out...

at least you figured out that you're supposed to change the oil occassionally...

Yeah, I read about changing the oil on wikipedia.

Good call Josh. Besides the towing bill, a bent valve in the middle of the desert seems less than optimal. Heck a bent valve on the outskirts of the desert does not do much for me either.

Oh yeah, I noticed that you may need to break up the last leg. stopping half way would put you around Hydro, Ok. Let me make a few suggestions:

Famous Lucilles' Gas Station
Elvis Stayed Here Motel
Statue of Sam Walton and his Dog

I was leaning towards what I first read as "Statue of Sam Waltons Dog"

My eyes cleared and noticed the artist included Sam, so I guees I would go with Lucilles', since it is famous.

Have fun,
Brandon

Most of the titles are quotes, but very obscure.
